Founded in 2018, Palladian’s partners have each worked in private equity for an average of 20 years and between them have made institutional private equity investments into 20 companies.
Douglas Oppenheim Co-Managing Partner
Douglas has worked in private equity since 2002. He has invested across a wide range of sectors in the UK and continental Europe including life science services and healthcare, business services, financial services, leisure and consumer.
He began his career in the leveraged finance and credit groups at Merrill Lynch and Dresdner Kleinwort Benson before moving into private equity, where he worked for Hutton Collins, a mid-market private equity firm.
Douglas is a graduate of Cambridge University. He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a former chairman of the British Exploring Society, a youth development charity.
Sobhi Hatem Co-Managing Partner
Sobhi has over 20 years of private equity and investment banking experience. Prior to joining Palladian in 2023, Sobhi was Managing Partner at Central Ridge Partners, a private equity firm focused on investing in sustainability.
Prior to that, Sobhi was a Managing Director and member of the investment committee for the European private equity fund of TRG. Before joining TRG, Sobhi was a Managing Director at CVCI where he focused on investing in minority situations.
He served on the board of over 10 companies in healthcare, consumer, and media including Pet Networks International, Amethyst Radiotherapy and Huvepharma.
He started his career at Lehman Brothers.
Sobhi is a graduate of HEC and holds an engineering degree from McGill University.
Vincenzo Barbiero Vice President
Vincenzo joined Palladian in 2024, bringing with him 12 years of experience in both private equity and corporate development.
Before joining Palladian, he worked in private equity at Central Ridge Partners, a London based firm focused on investing in sustainability, and at Progressio, an Italian mid-market private equity firm, where he successfully completed two acquisitions and exits while also serving on the board of portfolio companies. Additionally, Vincenzo was part of the mergers and acquisitions team at Intertek Plc, a FTSE 100 company leader in the Testing, Inspection, and Certification sector, where he acquired and integrated companies across multiple geographies, with a particular focus on Europe, North and South America.
Vincenzo holds a BSc in Management from Bologna University, an MSc in Accounting and Corporate Finance from Bocconi University, and a Master in Finance from Cambridge University.
Aditya Chugh Associate
Prior to joining Palladian in 2024, Adi spent four years at Deutsche Bank, predominantly in the TMT team in London with a focus on M&A transactions, leveraged buyouts, and private placements in the Tech & Media space.
Adi holds a BA in History from University College London.
Richard Newman Associate
Prior to joining Palladian in 2021, Richard was a member of the mergers & acquisitions team at Deloitte for 5 years. He was responsible for both acquiring and divesting businesses on behalf of the firm and also acted as an advisor to clients in the business services sector.
Richard is a qualified chartered accountant and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst qualification. He holds a first-class degree in economics from the University of Warwick.
Andrew Marchant Investment Committee Member
Andrew has had a long and successful career in private equity. He initially worked for the Prudential before he became a founding partner in Permira. He was subsequently a director and shareholder in Cinven for 13 years where he initiated, led and managed buy out and growth capital investments.
He has since had a number of plural non exec roles including Chairman of Unigestion's Private Equity division, Chairman of YFM Equity Partners and other senior advisory roles.
He is currently an investment committee member of Yana Investment Partners.
Niki Malik Compliance Director
Niki joined Palladian in 2021 and oversees Palladian’s compliance functions.
Niki has over 17 years’ experience in UK and EU regulation within the alternative investment sector. Her experience combines a number of in-house senior compliance roles with several years in the consulting field, working with leading compliance consultancy firms, advising a range of clients including private equity firms, hedge fund managers and corporate finance houses.
Niki holds the CISI Investment Compliance Diploma and is a graduate of Heriot-Watt University.
Rose O’Lone Executive Assistant & Office Manager
Rose has worked as an Executive Assistant for nearly twenty years across numerous industries.
She started her career as an EA for the CEO of Ingenious Media, moving from there to become the EA for the Editor of Femail, Daily Mail. She was then recruited by Moloney Search as EA to the CEO. She moved to Chime Communications as PA to the Chairman of the Marketing Division, where she worked for 12 years before starting at Palladian in 2019.
